What is a dental emergency?
Dental problems that require immediate intervention are considered dental emergencies. If you are bleeding from your mouth, have a severe toothache, or have broken teeth, contact our office immediately. Early intervention is crucial to preventing long-term oral health issues during a dental emergency. Some examples of dental emergencies are:
- Knocked out tooth
- Chipped or cracked tooth
- Bleeding from the mouth
- Severe tooth pain
- Significant swelling in the gums, mouth, or jaw
- Jaw injury

What if my tooth gets knocked out?
If your permanent tooth is knocked out, your dentist might be able to reimplant it if you follow these steps.
- Pick up the tooth by the top. Never touch the roots.
- Use water to gently rinse the tooth.
- After rinsing, put the tooth back in the socket and gently bite down to hold it in place.
- Put the tooth in a container with milk if you cannot put it in the socket.
- Call Smile Studio Dental. We’ll make an appointment to see you as soon as possible. It’s essential to act quickly.
